Great case study for crisis communication management. (but honestly I enjoyed the Youtube video. it was kinda funny) I guess there was a similar case relating to some restaurants in Japan before... (not Youtube, but blogs.) --
8. Pizza
Mix and match different toppings on the same basic platform. You can vary the mix to taste. You can have too many toppings or none at all. But, in the end, it's a pizza. Seriously satisfying food that you don't have to take seriously.

We have great social media metrics on a few different levels. For Typepad users, access and readership statistics are built right in, and there's one-click integration with Feedburner (MT can integrate with Feedburner as well). We also make it easy to connect with Google's metrics tools.
As far as our own internal metrics go, we're a media company as well as a software company, so you can imagine we've gotten pretty good at analyzing data in order to price, place, sell, and optimize advertising in social media. Did you have a particular area you were interested in? This isn't my current department at the company, so I may have to refer you to another contact, but I'll share what I know.
I think the old ways are still relevant as a base but times are changing. I myself am also changing my ideas around branding and advertising. Here's a presentation I made about what I call "social branding". I'd love to hear your opinions about it, especially in regard to Japan.
